Greetings!
We have just ended another awesome week of learning and building classroom community. Students are working hard to follow procedures and do their personal best. Next Monday, school will be closed in observance of Labor Day. On Tuesday, I will continue administering the Developmental Reading Assessment (DRA). It is an individually administered assessment of a child's reading capabilities.
Field trip forms were sent home on Thursday in your child's communication folder. This permission form will cover all field studies for the year. Please complete and return the bottom portion of the slip by September 17th. Payments may be made online through Parent Portal, under the “Student Fees” section. If you choose to use this method of payment, please write a note on the top of the form indicating you have paid.
Assessments for reading comprehension and vocabulary will be given each Thursday. Students are required to read each test question independently (unless they have an IEP). Therefore, I encourage you to speak to your child about taking their time and reading each question carefully. They are allowed to use their book when answering their reading comprehension questions. Math assessment will be given at the end of each unit
Please ensure that your child has a pair of headphones.
