We just wrapped up another fantastic week at Killian.
A BIG THANKS to those of you who were able to come out to Literacy Night. We had an enjoyable time! Students were dressed in their creative book character costumes and participated in various literacy stations.
The SRA Open Court Reading Decodable Stories Take home Books
Next week, your child will bring home their decodable book. These books offer children an opportunity to practice the phonic knowledge and skills they have learned. Children should bring these books back to school each day.
Early Dismissal
Friday, October 18, 2019 will be half -day dismissal @ 11:30am . Please send in a note or email if your child's transportation changes on that day.
Field Studies
Payments for the 2019- 2020 Field Studies are due by November 11th and should be made online through Parent Portal under the “Student Fees” section.
Blue Communication Folder.
You should check your child's book bag each Thursday for their blue communication folder. Please read and complete all form/ assessments. Folders should be returned each Friday with all homework assignments for the week. If you need additional time with your child's folder, please let me know.

Big Idea: How can you work better with others?
Summary: As Pam prepares to hike the Appalachian Trail, she includes her puppy, Ellie, in her training routine. On their journey of more than 2,000 miles, Pam and Ellie enjoy each other’s company and endure some dramatic challenges.
Essential Questions: How can animals and people work together as a team? In what ways can pets help people?
DISCUSS with your child some special relationships they know of between people and animals.
