Greetings!

We have had a Fun Filled and Productive week!

Our week began with MAP testing!  Students did a FANTASTIC job staying focused and showing what they have learned throughout the year.    You will find an unofficial copy of their scores and their report card inside their blue communication folder.   Please ask your child to explain their results to you.  If you have any further questions, I will be more than happy to speak with you once we return from break.

Market Day was a success.   Students used their creativity to produce goods and sold their products to classmates in a “market place” setting.

Today, students had an amazing time on their field study to the Richland County Public Library.   They had the opportunity to explore a variety of books, engage in hands on activities, and watch a fun filled puppet show.    A special thanks to Mrs. Wages for your assistance.

Friday, March 29th will be a student holiday.     Spring Break is April 2nd-6th. Classes will resume on Monday, April 9th.

Here's a look ahead for April 9th - April 13th...........................

Field Day for K-2 will be Thursday, April 12th.

Thursday, April 19th, will be our final field study to the River Bank Zoo.     As we all know the zoo is a very large place and can be a bit crowded at times.   Therefore, I would like your assistance with this trip.  If you are available to chaperone, please contact me through email, phone, or Remind.  If possible, students should wear a t-shirt that has Killian written on it or their uniform.

Many students are without headphones and pencils.  Please check with your child to see if they are in need of these items.

Happy Friday! We have come to the end of another GREAT week at Killian. Next week will be very busy for us.

The testing dates for MAP will be Monday, March 26th (Reading) and Tuesday, March 27th (Math). Please ensure that your child is present and on time each day.  I ask that you continue to work with your child on "PREP DOG" @   http://www.prepdog.org/2nd-grade.htm to help him/her prepare for success.

Wednesday, March 28th will be Market Day.  Please adhere to the rubric to ensure that your child receives the maximum amount of points.  Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Thursday, March 29th, we will have a field study to the Richland County Public Library (Downtown Branch).   Your child should wear their uniform.   More than likely,  I have your child's  signed permission slip from the beginning of the year.  I will make contact with you if one is needed.

Friday, March 30th, will be a student holiday.

Due to this being  a short and busy week,  paper homework assignments will not be given.  However,  your child should read a book each night and  make journal entries in their composition notebook.  They   may begin writing and practicing their multiplication facts.
ex.  2 x 1 = 2    2 x 2 = 4  2 x 3=6  etc........

Have a Fantastic weekend!
