Greetings Families!

It has been another great week of teaching and learning.

In math,  we began a new unit  on place value.  In reading, students  identified  cause and  effect relationships in literary text.    Social studies included students identifying  land forms and bodies of water on a map.  Lastly,  science included  students  observing and identifying how magnets are used in everyday life. Kudos to students for  doing their personal best  throughout the week on these skills.  Please ask  your child  about their learning experiences.

On Thursday,  students had the opportunity to meet Deputy Lawrence from Live PD.   They received safety tips and learned about  life as a police officer.   Students had an awesome time!   You may view our photos on class tag.

On Friday, students  participated  in a bus safety drill.  They listened attentively and followed instructions as directed.

Wednesday, October 18th, becomes a full day for elementary students. Thursday, October 19th is a half day for students and is Parent/ Teacher Conference Day.  Please sign up for a 15 minute conference time slot on  Class Tag.   If you have not signed up to receive Class Tag messages, please check your child's binder for their registration form on Monday.

Wednesday, October 25th -  Friday, October 27th,  students will take CogAt/ Iowa Testing. The Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) is a group-administered  assessment intended to estimate students' learned reasoning and problem solving abilities through a battery of verbal, quantitative, and nonverbal test items.  Please ensure that your child is present and on time each day.

You may login in to access your child's reading "Treasures" book at connected.mcgraw-hill.com.  Your child's user name and password   has been   pasted in their binder.
