The Daily News                                      January   9th  -  13th 
Greetings!  We just wrapped up another week of  fun and learning.   Students did a great job adjusting back to normal routines after the long winter break.    I am looking forward to another fantastic week beginning Monday.      

On  Tuesday,  students  will take  a Mid-Module  math assessment.   Please check their binder for a study guide that was sent home  on today. 

Our story for the week  will be Click Clack Moo.  We will focus on the skill of cause and effect. Students will take their  assessments on Thursday.    Homework assignments will be given each night.            

Skills for the Week
Story: Click Clack Moo: Cows That Type
Reading: Cause and Effect, Generating Questions 

Language Arts:  synonyms, r-controlled vowels (-or, -oar, -ore)
Grammar: synonyms
Writing: Friendly Letter 
Math: Place Value 
Science:  Force and Motion 
Social Studies: Government (important people and their roles)

Dates to Remember
January 13-Early Dismissal @ 11:30am, End of 2nd Nine Weeks
January 16-No School (MLK, Jr. Day Observed)
January 19-Report Cards Issued
January 20-Career Day

Homework
Each night, students should complete:
(1) reading comprehensions sheet,
(1) spelling - vocabulary choice board activity and
(1) math activity sheet.

NOTE: Reading comprehensions sheets and spelling-vocabulary assignments should be returned Friday in your child's blue communication folder. Math should be returned DAILY.
