Happy Friday!
State Testing
Next week will be a very busy week for us as students take state assessments. Students will take the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) on October 21,23,& 24 and the Iowa Assessments (IA) October 28-29, 2019. The Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) is a group-administered assessment intended to estimate students' learned reasoning and problem solving abilities through a battery of verbal, quantitative, and nonverbal test items. The Iowa test is designed to assess student achievement and progress from kindergarten through grade eight. You should check your child's blue communication folder for more information pertaining to these assessments. Please ensure that your child is present and on time each day.
Homework and Assessments for the Week
Students will take Ellieś Long Walk assessment on Monday. On Tuesday, we will read a new story in class. However, students will not take an assessment on that story. Homework will consist of a reading and math activity sheet each night.
Field Studies
Payments for the 2019- 2020 Field Studies are due by November 11th and should be made online through Parent Portal under the “Student Fees” section.
Headphones
Please check with your child to see if they are in need of headphones. They are an essential part of using the Chromebook.
Blue Communication Folder
You should check your child's book bag each Thursday for their blue communication folder. Please read and complete all form/ assessments. Folders should be returned each Friday with all homework assignments for the week. If you need additional time with your child's folder, please let me know.
